31BMW MR MARTINI & BABILA

Here we are! Ride after ride, and I go back to riding a BMW again! Let me explain it to you better. As I mentioned before, I had had the pleasure and the privilege to try out Mr Martini’s last creation: the very new ‘Special’, based on the Bmw R NineT, made for Matteo, owner of the Bmw centre in Verona, whom I thank for his kindness and also for trusting me!
I arrived on time and ready for the test. Emanuele who, while chatting and exchanging few jokes, helped me to get the bike ready welcomed me. He was probably worried about the fate of his bike, which before then had not touched the road, for this reason he followed me with his eyes; then he surely crossed his fingers!
The bike is very elegant, so I chose a vintage outfit. I was wearing an unmatched jacket and trousers by Giudici, which I think is definitely wanted and cool.
I went along the hilly area of Verona, “Le Torricelle”, passing through the city centre and then towards S. Giovanni in Valle. I saw some beautiful landscapes, one after the other. Just out of the city centre, you can find some lovely places you can visibly appreciate even more when riding “a bike”!
The wonderful autumn sunny day gave me the chance to ride this ‘Special’ in the utmost of ecstasy, as there is little to say about it: “I love this bike!”
Quite responsive in tight bends and enjoyable in the mixed and fast roads. Its chassis recalls the original one, which it’s okay if you don’t ask too much. What I could really appreciate was the improvement of the distribution of the M1 Special thanks to the Zard exhausts, designed and developed specifically for this model, and already approved. Besides the fact I really like it aesthetically because of its modern and retro features, I actually enjoy it because it emits a full-bodied sound, which grants this elegant “lady” with an aggressive character. The engine power is very easy to manage, but even the most demanding riders can be satisfied because the way it reacts is even more dynamic!
At the traffic lights and in the slower roads of my test ride I had the pleasure to notice that the eyes of people were staring at the couple ‘NineT M 1 Special-Babila’, and I assure you that I was very pleased with it! I strengthen ever more my flawless tune with the bike: because all motorbikes are beautiful, but if customised, they become very special indeed!
This M1, as I hope you noticed, has black variable section handlebars with Rizoma mirrors, supports, headlight, turn signals and the light have been replaced, so now it has, as

I call it, a ‘rock’ shape.
Nicola wanted to give this beautiful creature a touch of exclusivity; did he succeed? Also at a distance, you can guess it is an R Nine T created by Mr Martini. Its character is visible, colour and shade of colours were studied to reach flawlessness: in fact the matching ‘diablo black’ and chrome is just perfect, as very beautiful is the saddle, perfectly fitting with the rear unit, which is completely re-created. The riding position is unchanged but its colour and its design is truly a mix of elegance and sportiness. The KN filter in plain view is a proof of racing inspiration!
It was also great fun when we were stopping in places where Albi used to live when at university to take photos, because the lanes, the landscapes and the bike performance were merely enjoyable. The last part of the itinerary, through the bends and tight bends of the “Torricelle”, was more demanding, for the traffic did not allow me to enjoy the engine’s torque and to take bends aggressively as I always love taking them!
The NineT M1 Special performed very well and it’s a lot more comfortable than the original one: the handlebars and the saddle, in this case, positively affect the position of the motorcycle racer!
I didn’t want to get off the motorbike this time either, but unfortunately, I had to go back to the Nicola’s workshop! There we had the pleasure to have a drink together with him and all his staff talking about motorbikes and gossiping about this much-loved world.
I sincerely congratulate Nicola of “Mr Martini” for his BMW R NineT M1 Special, a very captivating bike indeed. Many hugs and do continue like that, yours is merely “art.” See you soon, Babila

I don’t know which looks better, you or the leather racing suit. You look breath taking wearing it.
